About the Course

The Club:

Experience a pristine 27 hole public golf course in a country club setting here at Tanglewood Golf Course.  When you arrive at the curb side bag drop, you will be impressed with the intensely manicured surroundings.  After entering the newly remodeled full service restaurant and clubhouse, you will feel as though you are at a private club.  At Tanglewood, the staff prides itself in making sure that the guests expectations are met in every way.

The Lion:

The extensive 27 hole championship layout, was designed by Golf Course Architect William Newcomb and was name "The Lion".  The course is comprised of three different nine hole layouts, The North, The South and The West.  The North course has a links feel with pot bunkers, long fescue rough and several water features.  The South course is tree lined, much like an elite northern Michigan course.  The West course is the newest of the nines and has water hazards on six of the nine holes.

Accolades:

Michigan Golf Magazine has ranked Tanglewood as one of its 18 Monster Courses.  It also holds the distinction of being a 4 Star Golf Digest Award-Winning Public Course.  Although The Lion is a monster, it offers four different tee selections, wide lush bentgrass fairways and fast smooth greens.  This allows all skill levels the opportunity to score well and tame The Lion.
