The North course 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9
Hole Descriptions North
1. An accurate tee shot is a premium on this starting hole, anything right of center could find the water hazard due to a sloping, fast fairway down the right side. If you find the fairway you must hit the correct tier on this difficult green or plan on starting with a three putt.
2. A fairly short hole that still puts a premium on a good tee shot. From the fairway you must avoid the bunker front left and be aware of the green's false front. This green is not as big as you may think and can be a challenge to hold from over 150 yards away.
3. This par 5 requires a long tee shot if you want to try to reach this green in 2. With a penninsula green that is surrounded by water and fronted by a bunker you are left with a classic risk-reward second shot, or a difficult third shot if you choose to lay.
4. A straight par 4 that isn't too difficult, but hit it right off the tee and you might not find your ball in the long grass. Be aware of the pin position on this hole in order to get it close for a birdie putt. A perfect place to pick up a par before beginning a difficult stretch of holes.
5. A short dogleg right that has water on the right and O B on the left if you hit it through the fairway. Finding the bunkers on either side of the green can make saving a par very difficult.
6. With a large water hazard from tee box to green in front of you, this hole requires one of the best tee shots on the North course. Adding to that a massive green that slopes severly from back to front, you better not find yourself above the pin or it gets even more daunting! A par is a great score here.
7. A dogleg left par 4 that is long and slighly uphill the entire way, makes this hole a great challenge. Cutting the corner is possible but it is well guarded by O.B. and two fariway bunkers. With the prevailing winds normally in your face, it takes a brave soul and a great tee shot but it can be done. Missing this green to the left side can make any up and down attempt a struggle.
8. Another difficult par 3 over water. The bunker on the left is a place you do not want to end up as a 3 is nearly impossible from there. The green is sloped and tiered so a close tee shot to the pin is almost a must.
9. The final hole on the North course is a long par 5 with a very small landing area. Push you tee shot right and you will find the water, but pull it left and you could find the hazard area as well. One of the most demanding tee shots on this side, so select your club wisely off the tee. A straight second shot is a must as the hole narrows into a tree lined fairway guarded by a fairway bunker on the left. From there, hit the correct tier of the green and you could find yourself with a finishing birdie. |
